How can it be explained that there are numerous productions among the most ambitious, currently formally and documentarily documentary films, which are very dedicated to the major issues of our time (flight, migration, sexism, racism, colonialism, exploitation) and at the same time formally use means of fictionalization ? What insights or solutions do the filmmakers expect from this approach? Can this facilitate access, make the incomprehensible tangible? Or can new realities arise in which the current processes become negotiable in the first place? We want to answer these questions together with the filmmakers and look forward to a large number of outstanding international films to be seen in Hamburg for the first time! We show the documentary productions from and about the Hanseatic city with the support of the Hamburg Cultural Foundation, they are marked with dokland hamburg.
