It is being made more and more difficult for People to cross the border from Mexico to the USA. The Mexican police is already on the trains that travel to the United States. Gustavo was wounded by an armed police men when he tried to climb onto a wagon. The instance attracted a lot of media attention and Gustavo was promised a visa by the Mexican government. But he continues to wait, like many others who mostly try to cross the border on foot. Raúl O. Paz-Pastrana captures how people not only follow their way persistently but also make mobile friendships to support each other. On the northern side of the border the „Undocumented Migration Project“ works to document and make visible the migratory movement of migration through the Arizona desert – including the trails of those who don’t make it out of the desert.
